About Heidi
Creativity and a dynamic personality doesn’t do justice to Heidi. She’s as accomplished as she is determined to make a difference. A Brisbane expat living in China, she has been a media darling with a long running popular TV program, an image and style consultant to multinational Fortune500 companies and management consultant and trainer on negotiation, goal setting, communication, platform skills and helping both Western and Chinese senior level managers in global organizations better understand the global environment and foreign work culture.
“You Are the Chef” has been running for 15 years, with over 6 million viewers and has taken home trophies for the Most Popular TV Host and Best Foreign Language Program for 8 years running. She has built and sold a successful Motivational Jewellery company.
Married to a Chinese Kung Fu and Taichi Master, and also trained in the martial arts, she has been based in Shanghai for 20 years with her husband and two children.
Heidi has grown up as the city of Shanghai and life in China underwent some very remarkable and impressive changes and her life changed along with it. She was instrumental in setting up companies that included Simmons and Simmons Law Firm, 3 On The Bund retail and restaurant development, and the Active Kids Association. But it wasn’t just the work that drew her there but the experiences gained from working and living with the people of China. It’s a unique and exciting society, and that knowledge is what she has been sharing with her expat clients. With one foot in Australia, and one in China, today, she teaches skills and strategies based on her cultural understanding. The city of dreams is filled with expats from all over the world and working with Heidi reduces the time to integrate into the community, build friendships and business relationships faster.
Qualifications and achievements:
Bachelor of Creative Arts, University of Southern Queensland, with a major in Film and Stage Acting, she performed on stage, TV, and radio voice-overs in both Australia and China. She studied and explored modeling, singing and make-up artistry.
